Post-Jam Update Announcement

Hello! My name is DuckBear, I also go by "Pannda".

I have been working on a post-jam update for my Ludum Dare game, Neighborhood Delivery; and I am releasing it today!

Quick TL;DR

  • UI text bug has been fixed.
  • Reprised dialogue.
  • Updated look.
  • New Content

Story based games that provide an experience, more than gameplay, don't really have patch notes to them; but damn I am a sucker for patch notes. Of course these upcoming patch notes might contain some spoilers for the game itself, it is highly recommended that you go through the experience before you continue reading.

Post-Jam Update Patch Notes:

  • Possibly fixed a bug where all/most UI text would appear to be bunched up.
  • Changed the game's color space from Gamma to Linear.
  • Lowered the amount of bloom used.
  • Updated the skybox to something more detailed.
  • Updated the main menu to make it feel more whimsical.
  • Updated the mail truck's 3d model.
  • Added lightposts to the sidewalks.
  • Music speakers now have music-themed particles around them.
  • Falling/slamming objects now have impact particles to make them more noticeable.
  • Made the "Secret Text" more noticeable in order to give more story/understanding to the player.
    • The "Secret Text" was also visually updated.
  • Changed some dialogue that appears through out the week.
  • The credits have been moved to a new menu available from the opening main menu.
  • Wednesday updates:
    • Added a physical speaker to the back of the mail truck.
      • A lot of people seemed confused by where the music was coming from. For context, the music was coming from a portable speaker attached to the player.
    • Changed which fences fall down.
    • Changed how the trees are rendered, as they looked weird when up-close.
    • Move a pleasant easter egg from Wednesday to Tuesday.
  • Friday updates:
    • Added fire particles, as a combination to the smoke particles, to that one house.
  • Added a few more scenes to go through before the game ends.

A really big thank you to everyone who played and everyone who rated the game on Itch and on the Ludum Dare official website. It really means a lot to me that you guys took interest in my creation, and that you guys chose to spend time going through an experience that I made.

Thank you to all who made YouTube videos about the game, it was amazing and beautiful to watch you all play. I truly could not thank you all enough.

With love and gratitude, DuckBear/Pannda.
